Week 6: Growing Hope Food Garden

"Together we're Growing Hope, one seed, one garden at a time!"

Teaching and showing the school kids how to plant and grow their own food is so rewarding, especially the permaculture way. No fertilizer, no chemicals, no pesticides. Organic. Just nature. It's not only possible for them to do this at home, but it's accessible. No fancy equipment. No dig. They can just keep the seeds from their next purchased or grown tomato, butternut, pepper, corn kernels, beans - and plant again.

They also learn how important mulching is. That coving the ground is important for so many reasons. They start mulching, water and then plant!

      These kids had fun!
