      Next Generation: Soil Regeneration

Revist Sponsored by Julee du Plessis

      · Blog,Sponsors,Video,Mission 2023

Celebrations! We were able to revisit one of our Mission 2022 schools thanks to a Revisit Sponsorship from Julee du Plessis, who auctioned off a Sunflower painting she did inspired by Growing Hope. The funds from the auction were sent to us, and we were able to purchase seedlings and arranding mulch, seeds and fuel (petrol) to deliver the items for another visit to our a Primary School in Hammersdale.

We met with key staff at the school, to discuss permaculture techniques and reminded them of the importants to continue mulching with free local materials, how to work with comfrey, seed saving and companion planting.

This school continues to work on their soil regeneariton with these permaculture-inspired principles and practises. Our revisits there support them as they work to independence with their growing initiatives.

Since this School has a kitchen on site, they are able to use the produce on site to add more nutrition to the students lunches!

We also met with the new school principlal and discuss an idea to continue to have the childen be apart of seed savings and to inspire them to grow from home. We will see how this idea unfolds.

We are so honored to be the hands for this project and shine a light onto the importance of growing food.
